Capstone Project - Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC: Performance Optimization Through Data Analytics

As part of my Master’s program in Sports Analytics and Management, I worked with the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC to develop a data-driven approach to player performance optimization. My role centered around leveraging biometric and match data to assess physical workloads, identify performance trends, and support injury prevention strategies.

Using tools such as GPS-tracked metrics and video analysis platforms, I analyzed key indicators including total distance covered, sprint efforts, high-speed running, and positional movement patterns. I collaborated closely with the performance coaching staff to interpret the data and translate it into actionable recommendations for training periodization and game readiness.

Throughout the project, I refined my skills in data visualization, Excel modeling, and performance reporting, all while contributing to real-time decision-making processes at the professional level. This hands-on experience strengthened my ability to synthesize complex datasets, communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and apply evidence-based insights to support athlete development and team success.

Update: I am currently awaiting permission to share confidential information and visuals. For now, this is all I am allowed to reveal.
